Pediatrics

The pediatrics of Ukrainian Allergic Hospital has 90 beds. This is a special wing, where complex diagnostics and children treatment are held. These are patients with bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive bronchitis. There are 5 doctors there. Every day children are looked after by three room-nurses, a nurse of manipulating room, younger nurses, and also two tutors. There are 10 general chambers for 6 beds, 16 chambers for 2, 4 beds, there is a room for games there.

Children from 6 to 14 years old are treated there. During a year treatment is based on the system of rounds with periodicity of 35 days. The basic method of treatment is speleotherapy under the conditions of the hydrochloric mines microclimat, where the basic effective factor is natural aerosol of sodium chloride. During the treatment children make 18-20 descents into the underground section. The improvement is noticed in 90-96% of the children, which is revealed in disappearance or significant simplification of cough, reduction of mucus allocation, reduction of short breath attacks and complicated breath, normalization and improvement of respiratory system. The result of speleotherapy with children is cancellation of the therapy based on the use of medicine or reduction of dozes of medical preparations.
